Recognition of Prior Learning 1. Recognition of prior learning will be in accordance with any guidelines set down by any governing body from time to time. 2. In general our policy is to afford students the opportunity to have prior learning recognised and to afford students the opportunity to demonstrate competence. 3. Our policy is to avoid a student undertaking a course of study where the student is not going to build on capability or broaden the scope of competency. 4. A student may submit previous study or experience as a basis for RPL. The Academy of Learning will conduct a thorough investigation to validate evidence, establish current competency and recognise prior learning. 5. Where there are costs associated with RPL the Academy will undertake to evaluate these as accurately as possible and inform the student of these costs before undertaking any activity toward RPL. The student will be liable for all costs associated with RPL and may be required to make such payments, as the Academy of Learning requires, in advance.
