COURSE INTRODUCTION:- This Level One course will assist students in learning and practicing important office procedures such as basic banking, records management, postal and courier services, telephone and fax services and how to deal with the public. OF INTEREST TO :- Those who plan to work in an office environment. COURSE AIM:- To familiarize the participant with the basic functions required in an office. COURSE CONTENT: Lesson 1: Current Account Deposit Slips; Cheques with Stubs; Reconciling the Bank Statement; Petty Cash; Banking Terms. Lesson 2: Additional Banking Terms; Recognizing Commonly Misspelled Words; Words that are Difficult to Distinguish Between; Capitalization Rules; Punctuation; Writing Numbers; Listening Skills. Lesson 3: Alphabetic Filing Rules; Filing Equipment; Filing Supplies; Filing Systems; Filing Procedures; Records Management Terms. Lesson 4: Business English Review; Records Management Terms; Recognizing Commonly Misspelled Words; EI and IE Words; Capitalization Rules; Suffixes and Word Endings; Punctuation; Editing; Listening Skills. COURSE NOTES:- Course material is provided as an ongoing reference. A certificate is issued upon the student’s completion of the course and on attaining a pass mark of 75% or higher for the final assessment.
