MYOB Computerised Accounting Level 1 COURSE INTRODUCTION:- This course has been designed as an
introduction to MYOB software especially for users moving from a manual
bookkeeping system for the first time. No previous experience
is assumed & all concepts are introduced in a very simple manner. It is particularly aimed at service
industry users. It covers the Accounting Equation, simple Financial Statements, the Chart of Accounts, GST, Capital vs Revenue, Expenditure and

OF INTEREST TO: Persons looking to work in a accounting role in a medium to large sized business environment. COURSE AIM:- On completion of this course the user should be able to perform a simple business setup and be confident to use the basic day-to-day functions of MYOB software, Receivables & Payables. The user should be able to prepare GST returns, perform bank reconciliations and to provide useful end-of-month reports. COURSE PREREQUISITES:- It is preferable to have Basic Accounting/Bookkeeping experience but persons having no experience are also able to complete this course PEN TO PAPER Section 1: Exploring the Sample Company, Accounts, Sales, Purchases, Card File & Banking Command Centres. Section 2: Set up Procedure, Create a New Company File, Easy Setup Assistant, Unpresented Cheques & Bank Reconciliation Setup, Setup User ID & Password, Display Reports to Check your Setup Entries. Section 3: Entering Day to Day Transactions, Daily Cash Sales using Recurring Entry, Enter Invoices for Sales, Receive Customer Payments, Prepare Bank Deposit, Enter Supplier Invoices, Pay Bills, Enter Other Payments, Prepare a Bank Reconciliation, Print Statements, End-of-Month Report Section 4: Preparing your GST Return. Section 5: Consolidation Tasks. Section 6: Additional Exercises, Ensuring Security, Ensuring Accurate Data Entry, Data Integrity, Data Reconciliation, Reports, End-of-Period Procedures COURSE NOTES:- Course material is provided as an ongoing reference.
