Audio Dictaphone COURSE INTRODUCTION: This course introduces a completely different kind of typing to that of the copy typist or the shorthand typist. To complete this course you will need to be a good listener and speller, as well as have a good knowledge of the English language. Some dictators will give you punctuation, some will not. If you are not a good speller then you will be constantly referring to a dictionary, as in the business world, misspelt words are not acceptable. The presentation of this course is with the use of an audio transcriber, audio tape and a manual. You will develop a skill for listening. SUITABLE FOR: Proficient typists aiming towards a career as a General or Executive Secretary. COURSE AIM: To enable typists to listen to dictated work and produce documents that are spelt and punctuated correctly. COURSE CONTENT: The course consists of Sixteen Lessons and Participants will be required to type a Mid-course Examination after the twelfth lesson. The lessons start off with Single Words, Phrases, Capital Letters and work their way to Memos, Reports and Longer Business Letters. COURSE NOTES: This course is one of the core subjects in the General and Executive Secretary Diploma. Course material is provided as an ongoing reference. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be issued with a certificate of completion and students achieving 80 % or higher will receive a certificate of achievement. Students will also be able to complete NZQA Unit Standard 10
